Could Lawn Fertilizer Service Be Dangerous To My Dog?

Pesticides, ultimately, are tools that are used to protect one organism from being preyed upon by another. Before any pesticide can be sold it must be evaluated and approved first by the federal government and then by each individual state. This registration process includes looking at how this product interacts with dogs. No product that shows a clear danger to dog’s health can be successfully registered.

Any product used in lawn care has an accompanying label and safety data sheet as documentation stating how the product is to be used as well as the hazards that it poses to people, animals and the environment. Those documents are not mere suggestions; they are the law and must be followed to the letter by the licensed applicators that use them.

How Long Should My Children And Pets Stay Off The Lawn After Scheduled Applications?

For herbicides/pesticides that have been applied, we recommend waiting about 1-2 hours, but you should always double check to make sure any product applied has dried before allowing children or pets around treated areas.

Humans and pets should always remain inside during an application. The drying time for herbicides/ pesticides can vary depending on environmental factors.

Before letting your children or pets out to roam the area where the chemical was applied, double-check to ensure the area is completely dry. It’s important that you know that the products we use have all been carefully screened and are regulated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

Do I Need To Be Home In Order For A Technician To Treat My Lawn?

You do not need to be home, as long as we have access to the property. This requires there are no locked gates or animals left out.

Is The Lawn Care Program Effective In Eradicating Crabgrass?

Yes, round 1 of the program includes a pre-emergent that specifically targets crabgrass. This pre-emergent is absorbed into the soil to keep the weed from germinating.

What If It Rains After My Scheduled Applications?

If the weed control was applied in a light rain, results should still be satisfactory. The weed control is foliar absorbed and applied with a material to help it stick to the leaf surface before being taken in through the pores of the leaf. As long as the material is not washed off the leaf, control will occur. If you do not see leaf curling in 10 days, please call our office for a free re-treatment.

Should I Water My Lawn After I Fertilize?

You can water your lawn as early as the evening prior to the fertilizer application. Since we use a slow release fertilizer, it can sit on the lawn until your next scheduled watering day as well, without harming the grass.
